Ever looked around and wondered why the world seemed to be happier than you are? We observe how people spend their money, have fun, travel, and live a carefree lifestyle and we sometimes think, "Hey, I want that!"

But we sometimes forget that they don't have the same life goals, priorities, and missions. They don't focus on Christ or dying to self. They have a love for themselves and (maybe) for others. They may have outwardly full lives, but their hearts are empty.

We, on the other hand, have been filled with the forgiveness, grace, and sacrificial love of Christ. Our focus is Jesus, our goal is Heaven. We're not on the same path. We're not running the same race. Let's be joyful, patient, and faithful as we strive to win the race that the others aren't running.

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer, and perfector of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." - Hebrews 12:1-2
