To Plant is to also be reliant - on things beyond our control - on the sun, the rain, the atmosphere around us. It is to be reliant on the Creator and Giver of all life. And so we plant, despite our seasons of dryness, despair, and doubt, because our hope and reliance are placed in the enduring. Generous, and timely goodness of the One can make even crocuses blossom in the wastelands.
