Awakened To The First Love

"But I have this against you, that you have left your first love" - Revelation 2:4

The church of Ephesus was enduring, hardworking, persevering, rigorous in their testing of supposed holy men, and living a holy life. Yet after pointing these out, Jesus rebuked them for leaving their first love. Everything that preceded this rebuke mattered little - Jesus was concerned more about their lack of intimacy with Him than what they had done for the name of Christ.

This piece was painted from a place of prayer and petition, that the Lord would awaken us - the Church - back to the first love, Jesus. Everything comes from that secret place of intimacy. Every (good) thing that flows from any other place in our hearts is inferior, no matter how well-intentioned.

May every word entered in this book be one that is expressed from a place of intimacy with Jesus or one that leads you into a revival of intimacy. We were designed to enjoy divine communion, and that is the most beautiful gift we can have on this side of eternity.
